About Us

Founded in 2023 by Gracia and Bret Mitchell, Mitchell Classical Design started as a small architectural design firm with a big vision. With a focus on Tradition, we aim to create and restore areas of Catholic worship to reflect the importance and the beauty of the House of God. 

Located in Alexandria, VA, we provide high-quality liturgical and architectural design services to clients across the United States. 

No project is too large or too small! We have a network of licensed professionals that we can partner with to collaborate in larger projects, if needed. 

As a graduate from the University of Notre Dame, Gracia has received an excellent education in Traditional and Classical Architecture. She has more than 17 years of professional experience working in various project types, including religious, institutional, educational, and high-end custom residential, but her true passion is Catholic Church design. 

Additionally, Gracia brings a great expertise in 3D-modeling and rendering. 

Before founding Mitchell Classical Design, she was a Project Manager and Lead Revit Designer at Franck & Lohsen, Architects.

Born and raised in El Salvador, Gracia is an active member of the Hispanic Community in Virginia and Washington, DC, where she is involved in several service activities. She also serves as the Treasurer of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums, Washington DC Chapter.

Bret is an experienced Program Manager, who holds a Masters in Business Administration from Ashford University and maintains a current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. He achieved his Bachelors of Arts in History from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. 

At Mitchell Classical Design, Bret serves as the Managing Director overseeing business operations.  

With a passion for History and Art Preservation as an evangelization tool, Bret serves as the Vice President of the Washington DC Chapter of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums (501c3).
